What is healthcare?

Healthcare is a set of [services|Typical healthcare services] intended to maintain or improve health.

These services may include the [diagnosis], [treatment], and [prevention] of disease, illness, injury, and other physical and mental impairments.

Healthcare is typically delivered by trained [health professionals] in appropriate [care settings].

Note: While the term healthcare is defined as a set of services, it is often used interchangeably with the concept of either health insurance or financial access to healthcare services. While this application of the term is imprecise and oftentimes confusing, it is often employed in describing healthcare policies which relate to providing access to healthcare services through healthcare insurance or healthcare financing.
